This fine historic home is much more than a sterling example of American Picturesque Queen Anne shingle style. The home was built in 1889 by the niece of Major William T. Sutherlin. Although many women are developers and builders today it was virtually unheard of for a home to built under the direction of a women in that day. Mrs. Tally sold the house in 1889 to Jesse R. Noell, Jr. The house has had a total of nine owners and last served as a residence in about 1984. The last three owners have preserved the structure for love of its historic significance but have failed to restore it to rightful splendor. Currently condemned by the city of Danville we seek buyer capable of preservation and restoration. Seller will entertain all offers.
